A reminder that while data of course has value - for the measurement of the quantifiably measurable - so much of what’s most important, most meaningful and most valuable defies distillation into an empirical data point…

A sense of clarity
A sense of purpose
A feeling of confidence
Of being inspired
Of desire
Of motivation
And more

Show me a number that can quantify any one of these.

Patrick McGoohan in “The Prisoner” had it right.
