Simon Bucknall joins 2 other World Finalists

Some years ago, I gave a brand new speech entitled: "To Be Perfectly Honest".

I received the following feedback from an audience member:

"Not the right subject. Too perfect. Not an easy speech. Too hard."

Far from giving up on the topic, I simply dug deeper.

Six months later, a re-worked version of that same speech (with the same core message) secured me a place in the Final of the 2017 World Championship of Public Speaking in Vancouver, Canada.

That's top 10 out of 30,000 competing speakers worldwide.

To date, that Semi-Final speech remains the best 7 minute speech I've ever put together.

Others, of course, may take a different view.

They're welcome to it.

My point is this:

Spoken communication is subjective.

Filter well the feedback you receive.

When you're the one presenting, YOU decide.
